Tom Rishel

Tom Rishel, PhD, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in financial crimes reporting and analytics, currently serving as Manager at Hancock Whitney since June 2022. Prior to this role, Tom held the position of Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi from August 2011 to May 2023, where responsibilities included teaching computer science courses and coordinating undergraduate degrees. Previous roles include Software Engineer at Radiance Technologies, focusing on Natural Language Processing for GIS applications, as well as GIS Programmer at NVision Solutions, Inc., and Programmer/Analyst at Hancock Bank, where Tom developed GUI solutions. Tom's academic achievements include two Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Computer Science from The University of Southern Mississippi and Univers, and Master's degrees in Computer Science and Rehabilitation Counseling Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, respectively, along with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Millsaps College.
