Since 1985, Hands in Outreach has been empowering girls in Nepal through access to education. Our mission is vital in this patriarchal society where girls’ education is undervalued and women are underrepresented in the professional workforce. We aim to inspire HIO girls to pursue educational goals as an alternative to child marriage and teen pregnancy. Our programs are intergenerational, providing girls from low-caste, illiterate families, as well as their mothers, the basic right to attend school.
