Member Benefits Include Professional Liability Insurance (malpractice) and General Liability Insurance (slip & fall) Coverage for independent Contractors who practice Massage Therapy, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Nails, Yoga, Pilates, Dance and much more! 

Our president, Judi Calvert and her late husband Robert Calvert, founded Massage Magazine in 1985 and owned and operated it until 2005 when they sold the company, shortly before Roberts death.  

The Hands on Trade began in 2000, as one of many avenues Judi and Robert initiated during that time to support independent massage therapist and hands-on professionals. They believed that practitioners needed business tools and educational resources to compliment their professional training. 

After the sale of the magazine in 2005, Judi kept ownership and rights to the Hands on Trade and operates as its president. She expanded the professional areas of coverage from massage to cosmetology, yoga, pilates and more as a way to connect hands-on professionals.
