André MacEdo

André Macedo is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in developing and optimizing applications across various domains. Currently working at Handshake since April 2023, André previously contributed to HeyJobs from May 2019 to December 2022, where significant achievements included redesigning a legacy Ruby on Rails monolith into a serverless application using Python, mentoring junior engineers, and scaling applications to manage millions of job records daily. Prior roles include positions at Nourish Care Systems, where André designed a data warehouse and built ETL processes, and Deemaze Software, developing REST APIs and frontend applications using React-Redux. André holds a Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Informatics Engineering from Universidade de Coimbra.
