Rose Broome

Advisor at HandUp

Rose Broome is currently an advisor at HandUp. Prior to that, they served as the COO and data scientist at SuperBetter Labs from April 2012 to April 2013. There, they worked closely with the CEO to develop and implement the company vision and strategy. This included fundraising and resource allocation management, as well as hiring and team culture. Broome also served as Head of Product, leading the development team, product sprints, support process, and content creation. Additionally, they managed research collaborations with academic and medical institutions, such as UPenn's Positive Psychology Lab, under the direction of Ann Marie Roepke and Dr. Marti Seligman. Furthermore, they analyzed complex data sets representing the behavior of online social game players to address strategic and operational business questions. Rose also developed a metrics reporting system on key player engagement and usage analytics (mySQL, Ruby, Excel, R). Through all this work, they uncovered behavioral trends leading to a product pivot. Prior to SuperBetter Labs, Broome worked as a data researcher at Inigral, Inc. from July 2011 to June 2012. Before that, they were a data manager at Obama for America from April 2008 to December 2008. Finally, Broome was a graduate student teacher at San Francisco State University from August 2007 to January 2009.

Rose Broome has a MA in Psychological Research from San Francisco State University and a BS in Campaign Management from Santa Clara University.
