Bashar Shaba

CISO at Hankey Group

Bashar Shaba has a diverse range of work experience. Bashar began their career as a firefighter at SBFF Södertörns Brandförsvarsförbund from 2004 to 2009. After that, they worked at Saab AB, starting as an Environmental Engineer and then transitioning to roles such as System Engineer and Trainee. In 2013, Bashar joined Sirocco AB as a Project Manager and Business Developer before moving on to Hankey Group/Westlake Financial Services/Nowcom LLC/Nowlake Inc. There, they held the position of Head of IT Infrastructure and Security from 2014 to 2017, followed by becoming the CISO. Throughout their career, Bashar has gained experience in information security, project management, system engineering, and business development.

Bashar Shaba has a diverse education history. Bashar began their academic journey by pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Vehicle Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 2004 to 2007. Following this, Bashar continued their studies at the same institution and obtained a Master's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, spanning from 2008 to 2010.

During their educational pursuit, Bashar Shaba also enrolled at Södertörn University, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Business Administration from 2007 to 2008.

In addition to their academic achievements, Bashar Shaba has also obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Bashar obtained the Internal Security Assessor (ISA) certification from the Payment Card Industry Security Standard Council in October 2016. In April 2019, Bashar became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)². Moreover, they obtained the CERT - Certified Computer Security Incident Handler (CSIH) certification from the Software Engineering Institute | Carnegie Mellon University in November 2019. Lastly, Bashar holds the CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA, which they obtained in March 2016.
