Eric Cheung has worked in the IT field since 2006. In 2006, they were an IT Administrator at Document Technologies. In 2007, they were a Systems Support Analyst at PFTC Trading, where they troubleshot mission critical hardware and proprietary software, worked with traders, quantum physicists, network architects, and developers to solve problems with trading software, network infrastructure, and connectivity issues, and maintained and patched over 215 computers in the office ranging from blade servers to laptops. In 2008, they were a System/Network Administrator at CGAtlantic, where they administrated the company's servers and desktops, administrated the company's 21 clients' systems, and was responsible for administrating the company's Exchange Server and Blackberry Enterprise Server as well as various clients' Exchange Servers. In 2009, they were a DevOps Engineer at HAP Capital, where they deployed both a test and production ELK Stack and integrated it with their infrastructure, learned and took ownership of introducing Apache Airflow to their infrastructure, and programmed DAGs (Directed Acyclic Graph) using Python.

Eric Cheung attended Stuyvesant High School from 1996 to 2000. Eric then went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, which they completed in 2005. In January 2020, they obtained the Bridge to NYU Tandon - Distinction certification from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
