We’re Happicabs.

From a small beginning in 1958 Happicabs has been moving the people of Chelmsford. The taxi and private hire industry has evolved since then but Happicabs remain at the forefront of pioneering taxi technology. Cutting edge technology is at the heart of everything we do.

Our revolutionary iPhone and Android smartphone apps now offer a minicab at the touch of a button and are changing the way that minicab bookings are made.

We believe our service is second to none, our average on demand pickup time is only just 10 minutes anywhere in Chelmsford and over 98% of our bookings arrive on time.

With over 100 cars operating across Esssx, all our cars have climate control and 90% of our fleet is under 4 years old. We’re proud to be the largest eco-friendly taxi private hire fleet in Essex.

All our drivers are DBS checked, knowledgeable and are fully licenced by Chelmsford City Council, Wolverhampton City Council, Maldon District Council, Uttlesford District Council and Braintree District Council. Drivers are trained to provide assistance with luggage, respect your personal time and will not bother you unless it is important.
