HAQ is an integrated and first-of-its-kind climate-health platform that delivers timely, easy-to-understand climate information, targeted health guidance, and access to essential local resources for people most affected by a fast-changing climate. Developed by an interdisciplinary team of anthropologists, physicians, and technologists, HAQ unifies real-time climate data, tailored public-health messaging, and navigation to community resources and services into one easy-to-use tool that helps residents stay safe, informed, and connected. Its design is grounded in empirical climate data, clinical expertise, and community-informed public-health insights.

As climate hazards intensify — from extreme heat and toxic air pollution to severe storms, flooding, wildfires, and other climate risks — too many people are navigating threats without timely, trusted, or actionable information. HAQ closes this gap. The platform integrates real-time heat and air-quality data, tailored health messaging, navigation to cooling centers, transportation options, and social services, as well as quick access to critical notification systems (911, 311, 211). It turns complex science and dispersed climate resources into a single, easy-to-use tool for workers, families, older adults, clinicians, and communities on the frontlines.

HAQ is expanding its capabilities to include bilingual integration, enhanced community-sourced data, and AI-enabled personalized health guidance — all designed to make climate-health protection accessible, actionable, and equitable for communities everywhere.

HAQ makes climate science accessible — and climate safety possible — for everyone.
