James Thomson

James Thomson has worked in various roles since 2008. James began their career as a Computing Assistant at the University of Waterloo in 2008. In 2010, they worked as a Wireless Protocol Tester at RIM and as a Software Developer at Demeure. From 2011 to 2012, they were an Agile Engineer at Xtreme Labs Inc. In 2013, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Pivotal Software, Inc., where they were a tech lead for multi-iaas interoperability and automation testing and tooling for Pivotal Cloud Foundry. From 2020 to 2022, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at VMware, developing an internal project using Golang, React, Angular, and K8S, as well as Concourse CI. James is currently a Principal Engineer at Harbor Plan. Additionally, from 2007 to present, they have volunteered as a Web Developer at the Vietnam Education Society, using Ruby, Jekyll, JS, and CSS.

James Thomson graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2012 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Computer Engineering.
