Jamie Read is the Dean of the Lincoln Medical School and a Professor of Medical Education, currently focused on developing a new medical school to address health inequalities and broaden access to medicine. Jamie has extensive experience as a clinician, having worked as a doctor at various NHS trusts from 2010 to 2022, and has held roles such as Academic Clinical Fellow at Plymouth University and Honorary Specialist Geriatrician at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. With research interests in professional identity formation among medical students and improving the working lives of SAS doctors, Jamie continues to contribute to medical education and healthcare in various leadership positions, including Deputy Registrar at the Royal College of Physicians and Non-Executive Director at Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group. Jamie earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Exeter and holds both a Master’s and a PhD in Clinical Education from the University of Plymouth.
