Mel Burges

Mel BurgEs, CCIFP began their career in 1962 at The Ceco Corporation, where they served as Corporate Controller for nearly three decades. In 1997, they joined Harcon, Inc. as a CFO, a position they held for over 24 years until their retirement in July 2021. In 2009, BurgEs also took on the role of CFO & Expert Construction Witness at HARCON,INC. Additionally, they served as a Trustee at the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church starting in 1999. From 2008 to 2012, BurgEs was the Past National Chairman of CFMA.

Mel BurgEs, CCIFP holds an MBA in Finance from DePaul University, where they studied from 1982 to 1986. In addition to their educational background, they have obtained multiple certifications, including being a Certified Tennis Official from USTA, ITA, WTA, and ATP. Mel is also a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP), certified by the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals. Mel is also a Certified Public Accountant, affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
