John T. Bennett

John T. Bennett is an accomplished journalist currently serving as the White House Correspondent and Editor-at-Large for CQ and Roll Call since July 2021, where responsibilities include writing analysis columns and contributing to the CQ afternoon newsletter. Prior experience includes roles as the Washington Bureau Chief and Columnist for The Independent, and Editor of the CQ Budget Tracker, where original reporting and analysis were key components of the work. Notable positions also include White House Correspondent at Roll Call, Senior Congressional Reporter and CongressWatch Editor at Defense News, and Defense & National Security Correspondent at U.S. News & World Report. John T.
