Todd Ruger

Todd Ruger is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in legal reporting. Currently serving as the Editor for Immigration and Legal Affairs at CQ and Roll Call since May 2022, Todd previously held the position of Legal Affairs Staff Writer from September 2014 to June 2022, covering critical legal issues in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, Todd reported on Congress for The National Law Journal and Legal Times at ALM from February 2012 to August 2014, focusing on legal matters related to lawmakers. Todd's early career included in-depth coverage of the legal system as a Staff Writer for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune and reporting for the Quad-City Times and Liberty Suburban Chicago Newspapers. Todd holds a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications from Drake University, earned between 1997 and 2001.
