Don MacKinnon has held a variety of roles in the entertainment industry. Don began their career in 1990 as the Founder and CEO of Hear Music. In 1999, they were appointed Vice President of Music & Entertainment at Starbucks Coffee Company. From 2006 to 2010, they served as President of Product (RED). In 2010, they joined the Advisory Board at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. From 2012 to 2016, they were the CEO and Co-Founder of Milq Inc., where they developed the Milq app and launched Browsery, a book curation and discovery experience for Barnes & Noble. In 2016, they joined the Board of Kinetic Global. Most recently, in 2020, they founded and became CEO of Hark Audio. Additionally, in 2013, they served as Concept and Producer for the Ken Burns iPad App at Florentine Films.
Don MacKinnon attended Choate Rosemary Hall from 1982 to 1986 and Williams College from 1986 to 1990.
