Harm to Healing is a community-led organisation growing an ecosystem that builds power for communities impacted by racialised criminalisation to create systems of healing, safety and justice. We support community members and organisations, resource community solutions and shared infrastructure, and develop approaches that transition society from harm to healing - strengthening the movement for transformative and healing justice.

The criminalisation system is a vast network of policing, surveillance and punishment that extends far beyond police, courts and prisons into institutions meant to provide care and support. Across the UK, it does not simply fail to deliver safety or justice - it actively produces harm, with Black communities particularly targeted and subjected to intergenerational violence.
Yet communities have never simply accepted these conditions. Across generations, people have developed their own ways of responding to harm - practices rooted in care and accountability that support healing and prevent violence. These efforts form part of a growing movement for transformative and healing justice working to move societies beyond systems rooted in punishment and criminalisation. Harm to Healing exists to strengthen and resource this movement.
Across the UK, organisations, campaigns and community initiatives are advancing this work under extremely challenging conditions. Community members often carry immense demand with limited resources while navigating burnout, fragmentation and a lack of sustained infrastructure for long-term movement building. Rooted in the leadership and experiences of Black communities in the UK, Harm to Healing grows an ecosystem that connects community members and organisations so they can collaborate more powerfully, share knowledge and mobilise the resources needed to expand healing-centred approaches to community safety and justice.
