John Zhang

John Zhang has a diverse work experience spanning from 2012 to the present. Their most recent role is as a DevOps Engineer at Harmoney, which started in August 2022. Prior to that, they worked at ClearPoint as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer from April 2022 to August 2022, and as a Site Reliability Engineer from June 2021 to March 2022. Before ClearPoint, John worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Cloud Support Engineer from November 2020 to May 2021, and as a Cloud Support Associate from January 2020 to November 2020. Their work involved providing technical support and guidance for AWS services. In 2019, John was a Discover Graduate at Vodafone, where they gained experience in cloud platforms and IT projects. John also has experience as an Engineering Assistant at EROAD in 2018, focusing on hardware and firmware validation, and as a Production Assembly worker at EROAD in 2017, where they were involved in product assembly and process automation. Prior to their career in the technical field, John worked as a Sales Representative at Nishin Ltd from 2012 to 2017, where they developed sales, marketing, and customer relationship management skills in the food industry.

John Zhang completed their education at The University of Auckland from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) conjoint degree with a focus on Mechatronics Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Kristin School from 2008 to 2013, where they obtained an International Baccalaureate Diploma. In addition to their formal education, John Zhang also holds various certifications including an IIBA Certificate from IIBA obtained in June 2016, Piano Grades 1-8 Trinity College certification obtained in November 2014, a Defensive Driving Certificate from NZ Transport Agency obtained in June 2013, an AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) obtained in July 2021, and an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) obtained in January 2021.
