Xiaoling Xu has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Xiaoling began their career in 1997 as an IT Specialist and Senior Lotus Notes Developer/Administrator at IBM. During their time there, they were a key developer for the IBM Worldwide Workstation Asset Management project, providing analysis, design, technical support, and maintenance of communication tools and data loading/processing using Lotus Notes, DB2, LEI, and DDL. Xiaoling also installed, configured, and administered BRIO OnDemand and Broadcast servers used as reporting servers for WAM, and designed and developed many BRIO reports for customers.

In 2011, they began working at S&P Global Platts as a Technology Operations Site Manager. In this role, they oversaw the Platts Washington DC office and provided technical and application support for all users. Xiaoling also supported Platts division wide daily technology production operations and managed Platts infrastructure services.

In 2015, they began working at Harmonics Consulting as a Tableau Engineer. In this role, they served as Lead Engineer and Administrator of Tableau application servers and provided technical support and application subject matter expertise to CFPB users. Xiaoling also served as the technical liaison between the CFPB BI Team and the Tableau Technical Account Manager to troubleshoot Tableau bugs and validate new feature requests and capabilities. Additionally, they delivered engineering guidance and expertise in the ongoing tuning and performance optimization for Tableau Server.

Xiaoling Xu obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Washington State University between 1990 and 1994, and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the same university between 1994 and 1996. Xiaoling also holds certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS) as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (2018) and an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (2019), as well as a Tableau Server Certified Associate (2019) from Tableau Software.
