Vinod Kone is a seasoned engineering leader with over a decade of experience in software development and open source project management. Currently serving as VP of Engineering at Harness since June 2025, Vinod has a long-standing connection with The Apache Software Foundation, where Vinod has been a Committer and PMC member for Apache Mesos since January 2013 and also holds the position of VP and PMC Chair. Previous roles include Senior Director of Engineering at Twilio and Director of Engineering & Product at D2iQ, where Vinod managed teams and oversaw significant projects involving high-scale data infrastructure and the Mesosphere product line. Vinod's early career included technical leadership roles at Twitter, where foundational contributions to the Apache Mesos project were made. Vinod holds a PhD in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara and a BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.
