Hart Hospitality creates and runs places where people eat, drink, sleep, swim, talk and think a little differently, based on two fundamental beliefs: that humans crave community, and that travel should be generous on all sides - good for the people passing through, and genuinely useful to the places hosting them.

Central to everything we do is the question: Who travel is for? Our answer is: Everyone. Travel is a mass weapon for connection, community and the contagion of good ideas.

Founder Portia Hart spent nearly a decade in the super yachting industry in Monaco before moving to Colombia. Here, her interpretation of luxury has shifted to include the intangible. What is genuinely human? What can make us feel alive? The result is experiences that are easy to enjoy, which also create the opportunity to connect and learn.

Thread count matters, but the key to success is in feeling good. In turn, feeling good depends on the invisible. Who makes a product? What goes into it? Who ends up with the money? Does the food on the plate truly nourish the guest, without harming its producers or the world? Does the person caring for a guest feel empowered? Can a business serve more than its shareholders? We ask and answer these questions so guests and relax, and staff can enjoy their work. The two are deeply interconnected.

We think differently, not to be alternative for its own sake, but to shift power in small, cumulative ways. Are we contributing to systems that rely on invisible costs, or trying to move away from them? Creativity lives in how things are done, not just how they look: rethinking habits, questioning hierarchies, and investigating the status quo. This is Hart Hospitality's MO.

To be truly luxurious, hospitality should never feel like a business, so the intention is to make our places feel like homes - for everyone existing in them, for any amount of time.
