Fernanda Viégas is a Gordon McKay Professor of Computer Science at Harvard University, where they co-lead the Insight and Interaction Lab alongside Professor Martin Wattenberg. Viégas has held significant positions at prestigious organizations, including Principal Scientist at Google and Research Scientist at IBM, and served as a Co-founder of Flowing Media. They earned both a PhD and an MS in Media Arts and Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they were also a Research Assistant. Viégas's academic foundation includes a BFA in Graphic Design and Art History from the University of Kansas.
