Matthew Etre

Matthew Etre is the Director of International Safety and Security at Harvard University, a position held since 2022, after serving as Associate Director from 2017 to 2022. As a member of Harvard's Global Support Services leadership team, they oversee the international safety and security team, providing support for the university's global activities. Etre has extensive experience in law enforcement, having held significant roles within the U.S. Customs Service and DHS-Homeland Security Investigations, including Deputy Special Agent in Charge and Attaché in London. They earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.
