Peter Bol is the Charles H. Carswell Professor of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University, where they also serve as Vice Provost for Advances in Learning. They previously directed the Center for Geographic Analysis at Harvard from 2006 to 2014 and have been the Director of the China Biographical Database since 2005. Peter earned their Ph.D. in Chinese History from Princeton University and holds multiple degrees in Chinese Language and Literature from Leiden University.
