Thiago Costa

Co-Founder at Hashdex

Thiago Costa has a diverse range of work experience. Thiago began their career as a Software Engineer at the Team Caltech for the Darpa Grand Challenge at the California Institute of Technology in 2005. Thiago then interned as a Data Scientist at Disney Research in 2012. In 2014, Thiago worked as a Fellow at Insight Data Science and as a Moore Sloan Data Science Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington. Moving to Harvard University in 2010, they served as a Graduate Student Research Assistant until 2014. Thiago then co-founded Hashdex in 2018, where they also held the position of Chief Technology Officer until 2020. During this time, they co-founded another company, AtlasIntel, in 2016, where they currently hold the role of CTO & Co-Founder.

Thiago Costa's education history begins in 2002 when they enrolled at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering. Thiago completed this program in 2006. In 2004 and 2005, Costa attended Caltech as a visiting student, focusing on Control and Dynamical Systems.

Continuing their academic journey, Costa joined IMPA in 2006, where they pursued a Master's Degree in Mathematics. This program lasted until 2008. In the same year, they had the opportunity to study at École Polytechnique as an exchange student, specializing in Mathematics.

Finally, from 2008 to 2014, Costa studied at Harvard University, where they successfully obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Applied Mathematics.

Throughout their education, Thiago Costa has gained expertise in various mathematical disciplines, computer engineering, control, and dynamical systems.
