Max Lowenthal's work experience begins in 2010 when they interned at the United States Senate. In 2011, they worked as a Wealth Management Solutions Intern at UBS Wealth Management. From 2012 to 2015, they were an Investigator at Mintz Group. In 2016, they held two positions: a Summer Analyst at Itaú Asset Management and an Analyst Intern at Sustainable Capital Advisors. In 2017, Max Lowenthal worked as a Graduate Structured Finance Intern at Overseas Private Investment Corporation and as an Analyst in Structured Finance at Astris Finance, LLC. In 2019, they became a Senior Analyst in Structured Finance at Astris Finance, LLC. In 2021, they joined Hannon Armstrong as an Associate in Structured Investments and later advanced to Senior Associate and Manager in the same department.

Max Lowenthal completed their high school education at Walter Johnson High School from 2004 to 2008. Max then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Economics at Colgate University from 2008 to 2012. In 2010, they participated in a study abroad program in Buenos Aires through IES Abroad. Later, they furthered their education by completing a Master of International Relations degree with a focus on International Economics and Latin American Studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) from 2015 to 2017.
