Thomas Keß has extensive experience in the field of tax law and finance. Currently serving as a Richter am Finanzgericht at the Niedersächsisches Finanzgericht since 2010, Thomas also contributes as a Mitherausgeber for Schwarz/Pahlke/Keß, Abgabenordnung/Finanzgerichtsordnung with Haufe Group since 2021. In addition, Thomas holds the position of Vorstandsvorsitzender at VFS Hannover and has been a Lehrbeauftragter at Leibniz Universität Hannover since 2012. Previous legal experience includes working as a Rechtsanwalt at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from 2007 to 2010 and as a wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the Institut für Steuerrecht der Universität zu Köln from 2002 to 2004. Academic qualifications include a degree as a Dipl.-Finanzwirt from Fachhochschule für Finanzen Nordrhein-Westfalen, completed between 1995 and 1998.
