Data Operations Lead at Haus Analytics

Rayhon C. began their work experience in 2019 as a Student Office Assistant at the Neighborhood Partnership Program at Occidental College. In this role, they assisted with grant money and resource allocation for the Los Angeles school district, managed the distribution of electronic resources and laptops to schools in lower-income areas, and helped develop a database for tracking grant distribution.

In 2020, Rayhon served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Economics Department at Occidental College. Rayhon worked with labor economist Professor Jorgen Harris to determine the effects of the Earned Income Tax Credit on the parental decisions of low-income families. Using Stata and Excel, they aggregated survey data and conducted factor analysis to analyze the impact of the credit. Rayhon's findings indicated a shift towards time and attention-intensive parental preferences for childcare with the implementation of the Earned Income Tax Credit.

Additionally, in the same year, Rayhon worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for applied microeconomist Professor Jason C. Wong. Rayhon conducted a data science project funded by the Bennett W. Schwartz grant to determine the impact of non-monetary and gift remittances to the Philippine economy. Rayhon also quantified the cultural value of the Balikbayan box practice through domestic versus international pricing differentials.

From 2020 to 2022, Rayhon held the position of Undergraduate Researcher (Economics Department) at Occidental College. Under the guidance of labor economist Professor Jorgen Harris and urban policy Professor Seva Rodnyansky, they researched and determined if racial bias was evident in Glendale policing practices. Using Stata and Excel, they analyzed arrest data and population data to identify disparities based on race. Rayhon'sfindings indicated evidence of racial bias in the probability of arrest and severity of charges for ethnic minorities in Glendale.

Most recently, in 2022, Rayhon joined Haus as a Data Operations Lead.

Rayhon C. attended Menlo-Atherton High School from 2014 to 2018. After graduating from high school, they enrolled in Occidental College and pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Computer Science. Rayhon C.'s college education spanned from 2018 to 2022. In addition to their formal education, in January 2020, Rayhon C. obtained a certification in "Excel for Mac Essential Training (Office 365)" from LinkedIn.
