Hawaii Oncology has its roots in community practice and academic medicine dating back to the early 1990's. At that time a group of University of Hawaii faculty collaborated to offer Hematology and Oncology consultative services at Kuakini Medical Center and The Queen’s Medical Center. Over the subsequent 25 years, the group added faculty, community practitioners, and expanded office sites at Pali Momi Medical Center and Saint Francis Medical Center. In the late 2000's the group also began a collaboration with The Queen's Medical Center to develop the Queen's Cancer Center. In 2017 a reorganization led to the current Oncology group which has continued to grow and now boasts 10 members, the largest in the State of Hawaii. We maintain a strong collaborative practice with the Queen's Cancer Center, a faculty commitment to the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and to the University of Hawaii Cancer Center while fulfilling leadership roles in all three organizations as well as in Kuakini Medical Center.
