Stephen Brough is an experienced materials engineer and senior associate with a robust background in failure investigations and materials analysis. Currently employed at Hawkins & Associates since January 2017, Stephen has previously held the position of materials engineer at Caterpillar Inc. from September 2010 to January 2017, where tasks included conducting material checks and utilizing advanced testing equipment. Stephen began the professional journey as a placement student at Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Ltd, focusing on production line planning and R&D in ceramic coatings. Stephen holds a BEng (Hons) DIS in Materials Engineering from Loughborough University, obtained in 2010.

A preliminary report is produced within three days of the scene visit, setting out the most probable cause and a proposed strategy for further investigation. Our reporting is flexible and can be tailored to your needs, depending on the scale and urgency of the investigation.
