Martin Atkinson

Martin Atkinson is an accomplished tax professional with extensive experience in global tax management and leadership across prominent organizations. Currently serving as Group Head of Tax at Hays since December 2018, Martin oversees all tax affairs for the FTSE 250 recruitment agency, focusing on governance, process improvements, and business initiatives. Prior to Hays, Martin was Head of Tax at ViiV Healthcare, where responsibilities included managing the company’s tax affairs within the pharmaceutical sector. At GlaxoSmithKline, Martin held the position of Tax Director Europe, leading tax strategies and compliance across the European region. Martin's career began at Deloitte, where as a Tax Senior Manager, tax advice was provided to a variety of large clients. Martin holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
