Ed Thomas has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Ed is currently the Founder and CEO of Hazel - Reverse Climate Change, a climate-impact mobile game that gamifies carbon removal. In this role, they are responsible for startup strategy, product strategy, fundraising, and daily operations.
Prior to this, Ed worked as a Digital Strategist in the Emerging Technology department of Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. from 2018 to 2019. Ed was responsible for creating and implementing emerging technology strategies for multiple business units, managing product teams, and leading the digital transformation of the organization.
Ed also has experience in the media industry, having worked at CNN from 2014 to 2018. In their role as Senior Product Manager, Mobile & Emerging Tech, they oversaw the Android mobile platform, led the rebuild of the CNN Android app, and managed product enhancements. Before this, they served as a Product Manager, where they were responsible for the Android platform and the creation of emerging products in the Android ecosystem.
In 2012, Ed founded 12Cube, LLC and launched an app called FoundMoney, which gained recognition from Apple as one of the Best New Finance Apps. Ed managed the overall strategic direction, product creation, and marketing for the company.
Prior to that, Ed held the position of VP - Business Development at FiPath from 2011 to 2012. Ed was responsible for product development, marketing, and business development for the college-savings focused crowd funding product.
Earlier in their career, Ed was the Managing Partner at Rock & Water Capital Partners, where they led marketing and business development efforts for the real estate investment firm. Ed also founded and led Harken Home, an online retailer of period-style home plans.
Ed's previous experience includes working as a Senior Associate Consultant at Bain & Company, where they led and participated in client consulting engagements across multiple industries.
