Kalyan Kumar, popularly known as KK, is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Head of Ecosystems for HCL Technologies.
As the CTO, he is actively involved in product and technology strategy, the strategic partner ecosystem, start-up and exploration incubation, open innovation/open source, the enterprise technology office, and supports the various organic and inorganic initiatives for the company. As the Head of Ecosystems, he is responsible for all Cloud and Tech OEM Ecosystem Business Units for HCL.
He is also the Global Practice/SBU leader for Digital Foundation (Infra and Platform Modernization, Hybrid Cloud, Digital Workplace, Enterprise Networking and Telco Cloud, Integrated IT Ops), and the DRYiCE.AI Software Division.
KK is a member of the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) CIO Network and the CNBC Technology Executive Council. A Fellow of the British Computer Society, he is also part of the WEF Global Future Council 2020 and 2021 for Quantum Computing, besides being part of the WEF 2021 CDO Community. He serves as a Board of Director in two start-ups and a mid-size technology company in the hybrid data/analytics domain. KK has co-authored eight books in the domains of service management, XaaS, CloudNative, and Process Re-engineering.
KK is also a Trustee of a London-based charity that drives the adoption of cricket in state schools and continues to engage with the community on holistic development with sports. He is the Vice Chairman of the Tower Hamlets Cricket Club (THCC), and is a Patron of the cricket performance group, CricFitSport. He is also a life member of the prestigious Marylebone Cricket Club (Lords) and has memberships in over eight county cricket clubs in England.
