Steve Chang

Steve J. Chang is the Founder and CEO of Headlamp since September 2019. Prior to this role, Steve served as an Executive Consultant at Afterburner from January 2018 to December 2019, specializing in leadership and change management. Steve's military career includes significant leadership positions in the US Army, notably as Battalion Commander of the New England Recruiting Battalion from July 2015 to June 2017, where responsibilities included overseeing a team of 220 recruiters and managing talent acquisition for over 1,750 new hires annually. Steve also served as a Special Forces Officer from 2001 to 2017, leading in various global combat operations and planning the establishment of a Joint Special Operations Task Force. From 2013 to 2015, Steve held the position of Director of Operations for Special Activities at the Joint Special Operations Command, where strategic planning and policy support for senior military officials were key responsibilities. Steve holds an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School and a BA in Political Science and Government from UC San Diego.
