Bethany Leap is a People Data Scientist at Headspace since March 2022, where expertise is applied to enhance and automate analytics and reporting for the People Data team and its stakeholders. Responsibilities include driving technical solutions to support People decisions, assisting in internal survey design and analysis, and developing custom applications using RShiny, R, JavaScript, and HTML. Concurrently, Bethany serves as a Graduate Fellow at the School of Public Affairs, American University, and has previously worked as a Teaching Assistant for a Data Science course at the University of Michigan. Prior experience includes a Project Data Scientist role at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where research focused on the influence of social media on online radicalization. Bethany holds a PhD in Justice, Law, and Criminology and a Master's degree in Data Science from American University, along with a summa cum laude Bachelor's degree in Global Studies from Gardner-Webb University.
