Anna Crane

Anna Crane, Ph.D., is Headstrong’s East Regional Clinical Director. For more than 15 years, Dr. Crane has specialized in mental health services for military families. Prior to joining Headstrong as a clinician in 2018, she served as an expert consultant and clinician trainer to military commands, mental health facilities, nonprofits, and national treatment centers serving military service members, veterans, children and families.

Dr. Crane worked with both Navy Special Warfare (NSW) commands and the Navy SEAL Foundation (NSF) supporting military service members and their families. She facilitated the launch of a UCLA-based military family resiliency training program, FOCUS. She has created and led mental health-based programming for a variety of military populations including those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Through her efforts at both NSW and NSF, Dr. Crane has helped destigamatize mental health care and increase access and usage among special forces personnel and their families. She has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by active duty service members. Dr. Crane was recognized by the Navy Special Warfare command for her commitment to NSW families.

Dr. Crane received her B.S. in psychology from the College of William and Mary and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Child Psychology from Ohio University. She specializes in effective treatment approaches to address post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, and traumatic brain injury (TBI) within the military family system.
