Healy-Murphy Center is San Antonio’s fully accredited alternative high school and child development center, serving youth who have not found success in traditional educational settings. Since 1888, our mission has been rooted in the belief that every young person deserves access to education, opportunity, and healing.

We provide a trauma-informed, wraparound model that pairs academics with life-changing supports, including:

A self-paced diploma track and GED program designed for youth-in-crisis.

On-site child development center, health clinic, counseling, and case management to remove barriers to learning.

Partnerships with SAISD, United Way, the City of San Antonio, and community agencies to expand resources and pathways.

Our students—many balancing parenting, employment, or systemic challenges—find at Healy-Murphy not just a school, but a community that believes in them. With small class sizes, individualized plans, and a staff trained in trauma-informed care, we empower youth to graduate, pursue post-secondary and career opportunities, and build futures filled with possibility.

💡 Change is possible. At Healy-Murphy, we see it every day.
