Robert X Smith

Robert X Smith, PhD, currently serves as Engineering Manager at HeartFlow, Inc since May 2024, with prior experience as Senior Imaging Scientist at Cortechs.ai from July 2018 to April 2024, where responsibilities included developing medical device software to address technical challenges in machine learning with a focus on patient needs. Notably, Smith was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Clinical Neuroimaging at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis from November 2015 to July 2018, securing over $1 million in grant funding for Alzheimer's and HIV research and authoring four scientific papers. Other positions include a brief tenure as MSINAD Scholar at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in June 2016, leading an NIH-funded clinical imaging project, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA from September 2011 to October 2015, publishing thirteen papers on advanced medical imaging techniques.
