Chief Mining Engineer at Hecla Mining

Doug Bayer has a diverse and extensive work experience in the mining industry. Doug started their career as a Junior Engineer at Asarco's Galena and Ray units in 1992. Doug then served as a Mine Foreman at Echo Bay Minerals' Republic Unit from 1993 to 1997. In 1997, they joined Hecla - Lucky Friday Mine as a Senior Engineer and later promoted to Chief Engineer until 2006. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Technical Services - Senior engineer at Hecla Mining. Doug then took on the role of Mine Foreman at Hecla - Lucky Friday Mine from 2009 to 2010. In 2010, they became the Mine Superintendant at the same company. Finally, in 2015, Doug was appointed as the Chief Mining Engineer at Hecla Mining, where they currently hold this position.

Doug Bayer attended Montana Technological University from 1986 to 1992, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering.
