Patrick Malone is a seasoned professional in the mining and legal sectors with extensive experience in sustainability, legal affairs, and governance. Currently serving as Vice President of Sustainability at Hecla Mining Company since April 2025, Malone previously held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Dakota Gold Corp., where responsibility encompassed legal, governance, permitting, and external relations. At Barrick Gold Corporation, Malone held several key roles, including Vice President of Reclamation and Closure, overseeing reclamation and closure for all operations, and Vice President of Closure and Governance North America. Additionally, Malone has experience in academic settings as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and started the legal career as an Associate at Chapman and Cutler LLP. Malone holds a Juris Doctor degree from BYU Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology from Brigham Young University.
