Michael Botes is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the brewing industry, currently serving as the SSH Brewing Process Engineer for Capex Western Europe at The HEINEKEN Company since December 2016. Michael leads initiatives focused on Capex efficiency, as well as water and energy reduction programs. Previous roles include Quality Assurance & New Product Innovation Manager at HEINEKEN South Africa and Global Lead Brewing Engineer, where responsibilities encompassed delivering engineering solutions for brewery construction and upgrades. Prior to HEINEKEN, Michael worked at South African Breweries as a Brewing Engineer and Brewing Maintenance Controller, overseeing reliability and asset care. Michael began their career at Linde as a Process Engineer. Academic credentials include ongoing studies for a Master Brewer degree at the Institute of Brewing & Distilling and a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pretoria.
