Ross Peterson, PhD, serves as the Director of Regulatory Affairs at Helaina since July 2022. Previously, Ross held various positions at Abbott from July 2013 to June 2023, including Nutrition Scientist, Regulatory Affairs Manager, and Senior Regulatory and Nutrition Science Specialist. In academia, Ross was a Ph.D. Graduate Researcher in the International Nutrition Lab at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from August 2011 to May 2016, focusing on product development for subsistence markets in India and evaluations in Guatemala. Additional experiences include a Dietetics Intern Volunteer role at the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs, instructing in a research apprenticeship program, and serving as a teaching assistant. Ross holds a Ph.D. in Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and dual bachelor's degrees in Nutritional Science and Spanish Language/Literature from the University of Minnesota, complemented by study abroad experiences in Spanish at the Universidad de Costa Rica.
