From DNA to decisions.

Founded by a rocket scientist, we apply aerospace engineering principles to one of agriculture’s hardest problems: turning genomic data into real-world decisions at scale.

Helical delivers a complete genomics infrastructure — from raw DNA through to breeding values and selection decisions — operating continuously across global livestock and biological systems.

⸻

Genetic improvement is one of the most powerful tools for sustainability.

Unlike most interventions, genetic gains compound permanently across generations, delivering lasting improvements in:
	•	efficiency
	•	profitability
	•	animal health
	•	environmental impact

The constraint has never been the science.
It has been the systems required to operationalise it.

We solve that.

⸻

At scale
	•	New Zealand national dairy evaluation: 36M+ animals, 30 traits
	•	World’s largest multi-breed beef evaluation: 25M+ animals, 650k+ genotypes (IGS)
	•	Hereford Pan-American evaluation: 3.7M+ animals, 300k+ genotypes
	•	Deployed across 42+ countries

⸻

Impact
	•	30–50% reduction in DNA testing costs via vendor-neutral infrastructure
	•	Millions of DNA profiles managed for parentage, genetic conditions, and traceability
	•	Billions of genomically enhanced breeding values computed monthly
	•	Methane trait evaluation in young dairy sires (LIC / CRV trials)
	•	Genetic defect management in working dogs (Massey University)
	•	Forestry optimisation (Radiata Pine Breeding Company)
	•	Equine genomics for parentage, health, and traceability (Horse Sport Ireland)

⸻

The system

BOLT (GPU-accelerated computation) + Helical (live genomic data layer)
= continuous genomic prediction at production scale

We translate cutting-edge research into operational systems in days, not years.

⸻

The outcome

Modern genetic improvement is not a periodic report.
It is a continuously running system.

We enable that system.

Let’s discuss how modern genomics infrastructure can accelerate your breeding objectives
