Chris Niessl

Chris Niessl is a co-founder and Principal Software Engineer at Hellbender Inc., where they have been since 2025, after initially serving as a Software Engineer from 2022 to 2025. Prior to this, Chris worked at IQ Inc. and Carnegie Robotics LLC as a Software Engineer from 2021 to 2022 and 2015 to 2021, respectively. They began their career as a Research Programmer at Carnegie Mellon University, contributing to significant projects within the Robotics Institute from 2010 to 2015, and also worked as a Student Software Developer and Software Developer/Engineer during that time. Chris earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 2010.
