John Carmack is a software engineer with considerable experience in full stack development and infrastructure services. Currently employed at Velocity Global since November 2023, John leads the design of event-driven and RESTful notification services. Previously, at Anaplan from June 2022 to January 2024, John contributed to driving no-downtime releases for infrastructure services. As an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from May 2020 to June 2022, John developed Python packages for simulating logic gates with spiking neural networks and created testing utilities in C++ and Python. John also held engineering internships at International Paper and Weyerhaeuser. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where studies were completed in May 2022.
