Ben Calvin

VP, Data Science at Helm

Ben Calvin has a strong background in data science and analytics. Ben worked for Helm as a VP, Data Science, where they led a team in building a data and technology platform for organizers and issue advocates. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Director, Data Science at Helm. Before joining Helm, Ben was the Director of Data Science R&D at BlueLabs: Analytics, Data, Technology and also served as a Lead Data Scientist and Data Scientist, where they contributed to the development of new products and processes to improve polling, predictive modeling, and general analytics. Ben started their career as a Senior Research Assistant at the Federal Reserve Board, where they analyzed federal policy changes, performed statistical analysis on national panel data sets, and researched economic model parameters.

Ben Calvin completed their education at three different institutions. Ben began their academic journey at Indiana University Bloomington in 2008, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with High Distinction in Economics and Computer Science. During the same period, they also obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with High Distinction in Mathematics from the same university. Ben's time at Indiana University Bloomington extended until 2013.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Ben went on to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2018. Ben pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Science during this period.
