Mercer Borris

Mercer Borris is an engineer with a strong background in health and safety technology, embedded systems, and user-focused design processes. They have held positions at companies such as Blue Origin and Helogen, where they currently serve as Lead Engineer in Bioinstrumentation, translating biology workflows into autonomous in-orbit devices. Mercer was a Watson Fellow from 2016 to 2017, conducting research on cultural responses to medical technology across multiple countries. They earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Swarthmore College and both a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
