Sam Jackson serves as the Controller of BBC Radio 3 and BBC Proms, leading the classical music strategy for the BBC. With a commitment to enhancing cultural life, Jackson has also held trustee roles at Help Musicians and The Grange Festival, and serves on the Council of the Royal Philharmonic Society. As a Governor at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and a former Executive Vice President at Universal Music Group, Jackson brings extensive experience in music and media. Previous leadership positions include Senior Managing Editor at Global for Classic FM and Smooth Radio, where Jackson oversaw significant audience engagement. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of York and has received an Honorary Doctorate and Honorary Fellowship in Music from the University of Aberdeen and the Royal Academy of Music, respectively.
