Robert Read

Robert Read is the director of Helpful Engineering, a position they have held since 2017. Robert was previously the co-founder of 18F, a rapid prototyping team within the United States government, from 2013 to 2017. Prior to their work in government, Read spent six years as the director of product development at Planview, a software company. Robert began their career as a contractor at Authoria in 2007 and eventually became the maintenance manager at Hire.com in 1999.

Dr. Robert Read studied computer science at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Robert earned their Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University and their PhD from The University of Texas at Austin.
