Simon Kennedy

Simon Kennedy has a diverse work experience spanning various companies in the fields of system architecture, engineering, and electronics engineering.

Their most recent position was at Hemideina, where they started in March 2023 as a System Architect and Engineering Lead. Prior to this, they held the role of Senior Electrical Engineer at Hemideina from April 2022 to March 2023.

Before joining Hemideina, Simon worked at Planet Innovation as a Senior Electronics Engineer from June 2021 to April 2022.

Simon's experience also includes a role as a Hardware Engineer at Blackmagic Design from February 2018 to June 2021. In this position, they were a member of the Cinema Camera Image Sensors Team and was responsible for characterisation, evaluation, and implementation of new image sensors for cinema camera applications.

Simon began their career at Monash University, where they served as a Research Assistant from 2016 to 2021 and as a Teaching Associate from 2014 to 2018.

Simon started their professional journey as an Electronics Engineer at Grey Innovation Group Pty Ltd from 2012 to 2014.

Simon Kennedy has a diverse education history. Simon pursued their Bachelor's degree in Engineering with Honours in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Melbourne, which they completed from 2007 to 2011. During this time, they also concurrently earned a Bachelor's degree in Science with a focus on Physics from the same university. Prior to their university education, Simon attended Melbourne Grammar School from 2001 to 2006, where they completed their VCE. Later on, they continued their academic journey and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Monash University, which they completed from 2014 to 2018.
