Herbert O'Neil is the current Superintendent of Schools at Hempstead Independent School District and has over two decades of experience in education. O'Neil was recognized as a 2023 Superintendent to Watch by the National School Public Relations Association for their commitment to educational excellence and community engagement. Previously, O'Neil held various leadership positions, including Principal at Naaman Forest High School and Chief Talent Officer at Life Schools. They earned a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University. Passionate about transforming education, O'Neil is dedicated to empowering students and fostering a culture of collaboration within the school community.
